The Encyclical Deus Caritas EST (God is Love) para 33 states:
“With regard to the personnel who carry out the Church's charitable activity on the practical level,
the essential has already been said: they must not be inspired by ideologies aimed at improving the world,
but should rather be guided by the faith which works through love(cf. Gal 5:6).”

Leadership
“When a group forms and
seeks to address common
concerns, the
outcome will be
good or bad
depending on
the vision,
beliefs and
dedication of its
members. This
is the reason
Catholic Social Teaching
encourages our people to be the
leaven in the world.”

“Rules for Radicals”
“The first step in community organization is community disorganization. The disruption of the present organization is the first step toward community organization. Present arrangements must be disorganized if they are to be displaced by new patterns that provide the opportunities and means for citizen participation. All change means disorganization of the old and organization of the new.” Page 116

“Community Organizing”
Are you aware that currently 6 Catholic parishes, 19 protestant churches and 1 Jewish
congregation in the Oklahoma City area have signed on as members of the Oklahoma
Sponsoring Committee (OSC) an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF),
a self-
· The founder of the IAF is Saul Alinsky author of “Rules for Radicals” where he professes his admiration for Lucifer.
· This has caused controversy and is dividing our Catholic parishes.
· The OSC / IAF provides leadership training to churches with a 3 year contract. Dues of up to 1% of the churches annual budget are suggested.
· The OSC / IAF DOES NOT provide direct services nor offer grants to relieve the suffering of the poor.
· The IAF through membership attains Power and uses this for political clout.
How did this get into our churches? For most of us it was a surprise. In our case, a select few were part of the initial committee and 2 years later September 2009 the organization was introduced to the parish. Up to this point we had no idea. In some parishes the parishioners became aware of this around October 2008 and had a chance to stop it before it could take hold. Some voted it out in parish council, others are still battling their involvement with the OSC / IAF and some pastors declined from the get go.
Two years ago Catholic Charities of Oklahoma City became a supporting member of OSC / IAF. When it became apparent that this would cause friction in our parishes, Catholic Charities met with Archbishop Beltran April 2009 and decided to withdraw support for the OSC / IAF.

Our faith teaches us....
Pope Benedict XVI encyclical letter clearly states that the church’s
charitable organizations should not cooperate collaterally:
“The Church's charitable organizations, on the other hand, constitute an opus proprium, a task agreeable to her, in which she does not cooperate collaterally, but acts as a subject with direct responsibility, doing what corresponds to her nature”. [Para 29:3]
“The Church cannot and must not take upon herself the
political battle to bring about the most just society possible.” [Para 28:a5]
“The direct duty to work for a just ordering of society, on the other hand, is proper to the lay faithful. As citizens of the State, they are called to take part in public life in a personal capacity.” [Para 29:2]
“The mission of the lay faithful is therefore to configure social life correctly, respecting its legitimate autonomy and cooperating with other citizens according to their respective competences and fulfilling their own responsibility.” [Para 29:2]

The Real World
The IAF / OSC is openly Political.
They “Community Organize” Home Meetings.
Pushing the Idea of “we’d like to help solve” though
Fact-
Then “they” decide what’s most important or attainable by Surveying.
Consider this:
After collecting our concerns we shared, are those concerns saved and used for political Manipulation
of our communities?
[Thought]
Just turn on the television or computer
and see how corrupt our world is today.
We cannot confuse “good sense” with paranoia.
Most of us are still working through the shock
of our country’s economic decline.
So now more than ever “Be Aware or Beware”.
